My internships and experiences in the past 4 years
July 2017 - August 2017
LECOÂ BOTSWANA
In this summer, I interned at my grandfather's steel manufacturing company. I learnt how to work using tools, how to work with metal and became aware of safety in the workplace. I gained experience with the various tools, machines and tempering processes that are using in creating metal products. I also learnt about the

IBM RESEARCH
During my summer, I interned with a senior researcher at IBM Middle East and Africa (Abdigani Diriye) to identify events in social media using natural language processing. This experience was very challenging, and pushed my boundaries of my knowledge in coding
July 2017 - August 2017
IBM DUBAI
In this summer, I interned at IBM Dubai under Fredrik Lundholm to learn how to lead a team, and moved on to create a server, the IBM S822LC, which is currently in use.
June 2019 - July 2019
DUKE OF EDINBURGH
During this trip, which was organised by World Challenge, I hiked up the tallest mountain in the Pare Mountain region of Tanzania and helped build a school in a rural village. This experience really opened my eyes and made me more respectful of the many opportunities and gifts I have.

ROBOTICS
During this long period of time, I participated in over 8 different competitions, such as the VEX Robotics competition and WRO (World robotics Olympiad), and taught year 7-11 in my school

BROWN SUMMER PROGRAM
During the summer, I attended a summer program at Brown University. Here I chose to study the basics of Engineering and to learn what type of Engineering I wanted to specialise in. My experience here opened my eyes to the hard work and determination required to get into such a prestigious college, and also what the Computer Engineering programs in university offers.

Love for Engineering
Due to my experience in my Design Technology subject and in my internships at a steel factory and IBM, I have discovered an innate love for engineering and building. My grandfather taught me how to draw sketches of products, and represent my ideas on paper, and then he took me to his manufacturing business and showed me how to use tools. Additionally, in school, I used the Design Technology labs to work on my ideas and learn how to use wood. I'm inspired by the potential of confluence of traditional engineering and technology
Open Minded
As a student who has lived as an expat my entire life, and have family living in 4 different continents, I am experienced in cultural dynamics. My experience of learning and growing up with friends from across the world has given me the opportunity to understand, experience and learn from the diversity of global cultures. In addition to this, I have been attending annual summer camps which involve independent international travel, making new friends and creating life long connections with fellow students from around the world. As a result, I believe I am open-minded towards new experiences and learning from them.
Perseverance
As a member of my school basketball team for over 4 years as well as other team sports, I have developed my ability to maintain a positive mindset about school and my life, and how to improve on my mistakes. I try my best to use this experience to stay motivated and help others. I have also learnt to be a great team player and to persevere towards an inspiring goal.
